Devita's Breastfeeding Story
Hi!!! I just want to say good job mama.
You started the breastfeeding journey and that's the 1st step. Never feel like you are not doing enough because you are, just relax.
I was 32 at the time when I started my journey with 32-week-old twins!!! We had to spend time in the NICU (which was a journey in itself.) Baby A stayed two months; Baby B stayed a month.
Baby A was 3lb 15oz at birth; baby B was 4lb 15 Oz.
They were still relatively big for 32-week-old twins and fighters.
Baby A developed NEC early on and was unable to nurse for 10 days shortly after birth. She was slowly introduced back to milk by bottle so once strong enough to try to latch she was like “uh no” lol. I had to pump and nurse it seemed like around the clock. Baby B would nurse and Baby A I pumped for. Oatmeal and body armor was my friend!!! I will never tell anyone I never struggled because I did lol but I would do it again in a heartbeat. Breastfeeding gives you bonding time, you can naturally break your baby's fever with skin to skin, in those winter months your breastmilk provides your baby antibodies to help fight off germs so there are great benefits to Breastfeeding. I nursed the twins til they were 11 months and my baby boy til he was 6 months due to health reasons. Just embrace the experience and love. Enjoy the journey.
